WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
Simple storytelling with a soul. Fun, natural and beautiful.
WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES/PRICING?
My services are very simple and affordable. I'm not a business person; I take photos, I edit them, and I send the full-resolution files to my clients. I find it easiest to provide a basic package and do it as well as I possibly can. My usual package includes two photographers, 8 hours of coverage, an engagement session, and all the photos from the day available for download on my website. I do provide some additional services like hardcover albums and unlimited coverage for longer events. Email me directly for a full list of prices and services.
WHY ARE THE SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER AND ENGAGEMENT SESSION INCLUDED IN YOUR BASIC PACKAGE?
I provide engagement shoots so that I can interact with couples before the big day. It's kind of a practice session for everyone, and I find that it gets everyone more relaxed once the real wedding comes around.
All my wedding packages include a second photographer. My second shooter helps photograph details, provide extra coverage of the event, and assist me with portraits. Having a second shooter also allows my to spend more time with the couple, as opposed to fumbling over my lenses and changing the batteries on my flash.
In short: these services allow me to create a professional, consistent and creative product.
WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY PHOTOS?
I usually send a small folder (20-50 photos) of my favorite shots from the day of the event within a week. This is also usually accompanied by a blog post on my website. This gives you the best photos to post to facebook and email to family and friends while everyone is still buzzing over the big day. These photos are often available as soon as the next day.
Since I usually send clients anywhere from 500-1000 files, I spend around 8 weeks to finish a full wedding. This time period allows me to spend the time necessary to create an exceptional product.
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Yes, I love travel! I love photography! What's not to love?
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR BRIDE & GROOM PORTRAITS?
A big part of my look are my creative portraits. I find the best time to shoot these is right after the ceremony and before the reception. In terms of time of day, my favorite light starts around an hour and a half before sunset, right up to twilight. The indirect sunlight helps to create that romantic atmosphere, and bring out beautiful glowing skin tones.
I generally ask for 30-45 minutes for bride and groom portrait's, but it is also my philosophy that they couple should enjoy their day and spend as much time as possible with their friends and family on their wedding day. The amount of time you allot to photographs is really up to you and what your priorities are.
DO YOU DO FAMILY FORMAL PORTRAITS?
Yes! I always ask clients to provide one or two family members that can quickly gather people right after the ceremony for formal portraits. This way, I can spend time finding a location with great light and get the shots done quickly, so everyone can get back to enjoying the day.
WE ARE NOT THE MOST COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. CAN YOU HELP US ON OUR WEDDING DAY?
I never shoot with professional models. While my goal is to create a breathtaking keepsake for you and your family, I know getting your picture taken in awkward and nerve-racking task. My job is to stay calm and help you have fun with it. It's often when I let the awkwardness play out that I get the best, most genuine photographs.
